RCA Minutes Aug 17 – 09
Meeting convened by Nora at 7:05 pm.
Previous minutes read by Stephanie, moved to accept by Nancy, all approved.
Treasurers report read by Nancy, totals in accounts; $11240.21. Moved to approve by Clarke, seconded by Ken, all approved.
Previous Business;
-Re; ants in logs. Stephanie will call exterminator.
-Hall is left unfinished as JOP workers are finished (except fire mgmt, which they will start Aug 18th, for 4 days). Still need volunteers to sand at least one wall to complete east hall. Steph will promote in newsletter.
-Steph talked with Higgs (in charge of Log Building Course) at NWCC, who will test different mediums on logs this winter. He will submit quote for sandblasting inside of hall after trying the 3 different mediums of sand, corn husks or baking soda.
-Ken suggested we find dry sand, rent a compressor and use his sand blaster to finish hall. Will investigate further. Clarke will inquire Princess Auto Catelogue, and price of sand.
Steph will get quote for sandblasting from PegRen Ent in Thornhill .
-Pancake breakfasts ending this weekend, Aug 22. Steph will take down ads.
Nora will finalize accounts with Nancy. Steph will promote as last flea market/garage sale. For this Sat, Aug 22, 8am.
-Re; water filter medium, Ken still inquiring.
New Business;
-Pat Demoe passed away this morning. Will wait for to see if memorial service is requested. Card at store for residents to sign and express condolensces.
-Hall needs new CD player, Steph will request in Newsletter.
-Nora will create blueprint for Kitchen cabinet.
-Certificates fo Appreciation for JOP workers will be created.
