Previous Business;
-Re; Gaming Grant. The Gaming Grant website failed to post a notice that all funding has been suspended for years 2009 and 2010, thus the RCA cannot reapply for funding to restore the Hall until next year. Meanwhile we're pursuing a Heritage Grant.
-Re; Refilling of Rosswood Community Hall water filter sand medium. Ken emptied out the sand and replaced with new sand medium. Ken tested the water and it runs clear. Thanks Ken!
-RCA Scaffolding has been located.
New Business:
-The JOP program is back and has asked if we would like to use their services.
The JOP asks that we pay for 30% of the materials needed.
Possible projects for them includes;
Picnic tables
Outhouses
Finish Windows
Put up baseboards
Kitchen cabinet
Fix front door
Fix concession stand door
Close off kitchen to keep mice out
Fix table legs
Well House
Insulate windows
Stephanie proposed we spend up to $500. or less to pay for materials needed.
Nancy seconded, all approved. Clarke would like to know more details about logisitcs.
-Clarke motioned Nora be reimbursed for some Christmas decorations she bought on 90% discount, $18.38, seconded by Stephanie. All approved.
-Nancy motioned she be reimbursed for $12.70 for the candy for Christmas Dinner. Seconded by Clarke. All approved.
-Four sets of table legs are needed to fix the tables at the Hall. Ken proposed we spend about $90.00 to replace the legs. Seconded by Stephanie, all approved.
-Stephanie proposed the RCA work with the Nisga'a Nation to start the process with Telus to get Cell Phone Towers installed from Terrace to the Nass. Telus has already committed their tower installions for 2010, so we'll work hard on getting the process committed for 2011.
We're currently working with Les Clayton, Director of Communications for the Nisga'a Nation. We're in contact with Brock Enderton of Telus providing needed information, as well as forwarding the petition that was started by Soni Deverall, thanks Soni.
Motion seconded by Ken, all approved.
Re; Clearing Hall Parking lot, Rob Geier donated his grader, Ed Glazebrook donted his time running the grader. Ken's tractor is broken down for now.
Re; Community charity, how to decide who to support and how much. Will discuss next meeting.
Clarke motions to adjourn meeting at 8:41pm, all approved.
