RCA Minutes March 21 2011
Attendance: Nora, Steph, Mary, Betty G, Morgan, Mae, Ken K.,Yvette, Marie C.
Meeting convened at 7:05 pm by Nora
Previous minutes read by Stephanie, Mary moved to accept, Ken seconded, all approved.
Treasurers report read by Nancy, totals in account $9760., all approved.
Previous Business:
-Re: Windstorm Clean up, monies have been approved by Regional District and MFR to hire crews to clean up windstorm damage. Six locals will be hired to work on those crews. Priority to clean up Rosswood Community Campground first, then Egan rd, work will start within about 2 weeks.
A pile will be created for firewood for the RCA to sell.
-Morgan updated us on his progress, has been working with a crew throughout the winter, will be buying new machinery and hiring more men. As soon as the snow melts, progress will be faster. Is looking for pine markets, several possibilities in the works.
-Ken K changed lock on Hall door, is now back to original lock, thanks Ken!
-We will apply for new gaming grant for Hall restoration and replace roof.
New Business:
-Nancy updated approval form for key copying at Terrys Lock and Key to current RCA execs.
-Nora needs money to purchase supplies for cooking at Archery Shoot, Betty proposed Nora be given $200.00 so she can shop for bargains, all approved.
-Seed Exchange organized for Sat April 2, 11-1pm at the Rosswood Community Hall
-RCA Elections will be held at next RCA meeting on Mon April 18 7pm, Betty G will officiate election. Membership fees are due. Steph will check with Lloyd and Rosa regarding elections.
-Proposal was made for a notice to be put out to the community for bid submission for Hall Handyman for the following jobs:
-fix outhouses--
-fix hole in roof that is leaking into main Hall
-Mouse proof kitchen for food safe.
-Reposition weather proof stip from downstairs to inner door
There will be a limit of one week on how long bidders can submit, work to begin shortly after that. To be announced in Rosswood Newsletter.
-RCA garage sale will be May 28th, 9-2pm
-Hall will be rented in Aug for Gary and Lori's wedding.
-Marie Claveau art available for viewing at Don Diego's, she does fabulous paintings, check them out.
-Mary will take food safe course for free at NWCC, senior rate.
