RCA Minutes May 18 2009


Attended by Nora, Nancy, Ken, Louise P., Tracy, Stephanie.


Nora called meeting to order at 7:20pm.


Nora read previous meeting minutes, all approved.


Nancy read Treasurers report, totals in accounts; $9937.74, all approved.


Previous Business;


-Set up ads for Garage Sale; promote pancake breakfast.

Breakfast and lunch, Bake Sale,

Talk about Flea Market, name only instead of Farmer's Market, per food safe, show food safe rules for food production. Will emphasize Flea Mkt and Bake Sale

Tracy will help arranged for signage about Garage Sale, this Fri, Sat May 22, 23


-Donation box for the Hall restoration fundset up at the Store by Stephanie, will be checked weekly by Nancy.


-Some discussion had about the RCA's success cooking for Archery event, $398.43 profit with more to come as Pancake Breakfast uses supplies up. Future events will be charged higher price for food.


New Business;


-Forestry JOPs program (Job Opportunity Program) has committed to clearing brush around the Rosswood Hall, fire prevention learning opportunity for community and they're willing to do more jobs if we can raise money for supplies.

Some suggestions for new Jobs they can do;

-make new outhouse for Camp ground

-finish inside of hall, sanding and finishing logs.

-Build log picnic tables

-Fix Information Booth by Hall

-Build raised garden beds

-Playground toys

-Finish Stage

-Build Bulletin Board for Dump. And for Hall on Highway..

-Make seats for swing sets.

-Build a well house.

-Log entry Arch for Garden

JOPs is also willing to help us with finishing the exterior of the Hall pending grant monies!


-Nancy moved to give Nora $30.00 for gas money for supply purchasing at Archery Event, Ken seconded, all in favor.


-Nora asked if RCA wants to buy the griddles etc she bought for the Archery Event. Dissussion was had about whether we should have a bigger, more professional grill. Nora will donate use of griddles for now. Nora will check into prices of metal grills.


-Re; Dishwasher for Hall. Miele has an affordable, but powerful dishwasher, will investigate.


-Handtowel paper needed to be purchased. Nora will look into where to purchase.


-Stephanie will call Rosswood residents to help at Garage Sale.


-Stephanie will promote ongoing Pancake Breakfasts with Motorcyclists.


-Tracy moved to adjourn meeting at 8:50pm, all in favor.
